We make everything to order to your specifications and in the stone that you choose. We want to make sure that your experience of both selecting your stone products and then having them installed in your home or property runs as smoothly and as satisfactorily as possible.

Characteristics of natural materials

Colour Variations & Sampling
When we are dealing with natural stone (as opposed to quartz for example), we find that the vein pattern and tint will tend to vary, and this variation is linked to the precise location or seam from which the stone has been extracted. With some stones, especially some of the marbles, wide variations between slabs and even within slabs, are possible. As part of our service, we aim when possible to provide you with small cut samples or show you larger scale images of available slabs, and we will guide you in terms of stones that may have significant variations.

Choice of stone
Different types of stone have different inherent qualities. For example, some marbles and limestone are softer than granite and should not be used in areas of heavy wear and tear. Granite on the other hand is an extremely dense stone with low porosity and is therefore stain resistant (as is quartz) and impervious to damage from high temperatures – and is commonly used for kitchen and bathroom worktops.

Pitting and fissures
In the case of natural stone, small bubbles and cracks can occur inside it during its formation. We fill these as necessary before they leave the factory.

Product Availability
We are able to source a very wide range of products using natural stone from the world’s various producers. We aim to hold in stock a number of the most popular stones and can source others according to customer requirements.

Quotations

We will happily provide you with a competitive quotation for your project. You can help us to generate accurate quotations for your kitchen, bathroom and other projects.

All we need is a diagram with the dimensions marked on, covering the areas where worktops are to be provided, as well as any sink or hob cut outs. We can help you choose the edge profile that could best suit, and discuss suitable type of material and thickness.

We suggest that in most circumstances the front and back rail for cut outs should be at least 50mm. We will provide a quote for the whole job, covering templating and installation.

Templating & fabrication

Our staff have years of experience in accurately measuring for your new worktops and other surfaces. They will work with you to discuss design details and how to make your surfaces look their best, including for example the positioning of joints and options for upstands and splashbacks. Our templating service is quick and efficient and can often be completed within one hour (depending on the size of the area required).

When measuring up, our templater will fill out a job specification form to ensure that your order is fully detailed and can be completed to your requirements. Following the visit to your property for templating, we will be able to confirm your quotation and then proceed to place the order for your chosen materials.

The templates will then be passed onto our fabricators, ready for processing.

Installation

Typically we work to a 5 working day lead time between templating and installation. If you have chosen a specialist product that we have to source from abroad, then there can be a longer lead time, but we will naturally discuss this with you at the time of ordering.

Following the fabrication of your worktops or other surfaces, we will arrange installation at your premises. Our skilled fitters are in possession of all the tools and knowhow needed to ensure a high quality installation of the products that you have selected.

It is our policy to ensure that your products are fitted in your premises with due care and attention to detail. We will carefully fit, finish joints neatly and clean up when we are finished.  We are very confident that we will provide you with a high quality of finish, and in any event will ask you to confirm that you are satisfied with what we have installed.
